‘Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge’ Hosted by Ashley Graham is Arriving to the MENA region this Friday, August 11

Step inside a real-life Barbie Dreamhouse in HGTV’s biggest, boldest, and most whimsical competition series, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, set to premiere in the MENA region on Friday, August 11, on the discovery+ library of STARZPLAY, STC TV, and Jawwy TV. The series will also be available on HGTV MENA starting August 15 at 22:00 KSA, with a weekly episode release every Tuesday.


Hosted by supermodel, designer, author and entrepreneur Ashley Graham, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge features renovations that will transform a Southern Californian home into an epic life-size Barbie oasis that celebrates six decades of Barbie. And one passionate Barbie fan will win a once-in-a-lifetime sleepover staycation in the completed home!

Throughout the competition, teams consisting of renowned HGTV designers and personalities, such as Egypt Sherrod, Mike Jackson, Jasmine Roth, Ty Pennington, and Alison Victoria, will compete in various challenges. Each challenge focuses on a specific era of Barbie’s history, resulting in imaginative spaces that pay homage to the icon’s legacy. 

The ultimate victors will earn a donation to Save the Children as part of the Barbie Dream Gap Project to help girls around the world receive the learning resources and support they need to make their dreams a reality. The show’s premiere, lasting 90 minutes, includes a trip to Mattel headquarters and contestants redesigning different areas of the home in line with the competition’s themes, involving elements that evoke nostalgia and whimsy. 


From neon 1990s Barbie-inspired designs to a groovy 1970s disco-themed den for Ken and a futuristic closet, each episode promises unique and imaginative transformations. Celebrity guest judges from various backgrounds, including entertainment, design, and fashion, will evaluate the contestants’ work. 

“To pull this off, we’ve assembled the biggest group of renovation stars ever on HGTV to create a real-life fully functioning Barbie Dreamhouse,” said Ashley. “The pressure is on for the teams to unleash their creativity far beyond their usual design parameters to dream up a place that Barbie would be proud to call home.”
