I would not exaggerate if I said Youmna Khoury is the brightest star in the beauty industry in the middle east right now. As a result of the launch of her brand in 2017, she has gained a huge following around the world. It is no secret that her Arabian makeup style has resonated strongly with brown women all over the world, but nowhere more so than in the Middle East. Despite the fact that beauty ideals are traditionally passed from west to east, she has popularized that style throughout the world, which is a nearly miraculous phenomenon. A conversation with Youmna about her entrepreneurial journey and lessons learned.
It all started as Youmi Online Shop with a small range of products but the demand for the products was incredible, I was so excited to watch sales skyrocket in the first month of its launch, with the products selling out within the first few days. The pilot product for the brand is our famed contact lenses, a collection that created a mass buzz across the Middle East. As we continued to receive an increase in demand for more products I took the company a step further by introducing two additional products to compliment the reputable colored contact lenses, and to allow consumers to create a complete look; lashes and hair extensions. I always had a huge vision for my company and although it took me a long time, a lot of research, and work, my vision helped me overcome my obstacles. I fully enjoyed every single step along the way and I believe it is important to do what you love and are passionate about.
