With 87% of brides spending up to £300 on hair & makeup for their wedding day*, there’s no doubt brides want the best in beauty when they say “I do”. As the 2023 wedding season begins, Beauty Daily by Clarins delved into Pinterest data to uncover the biggest bridal beauty trends we expect to see this year.
Fairytale Ethereal Beauty

Brides are growing increasingly interested in fairytale ethereal bridal themes this year. Fairytale wedding dress searches have increased 6,000% on Pinterest, whilst ethereal nails have gone up by +4,000% (think pearl details, iridescent ‘glazed donut’ manicures in neutral shades and rhinestones). Ethereal make-up (characterised by highlighter, kitten eyeliner and shimmery eyeshadow) has also shot up by +300%.
Sophisticated Buns

Sophisticated sleek buns are officially in. With ‘bridal hair buns’ increasing +400% on Pinterest searches up from last year, brides are looking for hair looks with minimal detail. It’s clear that Sofia Richie’s recent nuptials have inspired the trend as she sported a super sleek low bun with a middle part at her South of France ceremony. Jennifer Lopez also rocked a slicked-back bun for her wedding day.
Minimal “No Makeup” Glam

Despite a rise in ethereal beauty extravagance, some brides in 2023 are scaling back on their glam, increasingly opting for the effortless ‘natural’ look. ‘Natural glam bridal make-up’ has increased by +700% in Pinterest searches from last year, revealing the extent to which brides seek inspiration to enhance their natural beauty. Brides are also seeking fuss-free hairstyles as searches for bridal hair down styles have increased +200% from last year and have also increased +300% for bridesmaids.
Matcha Sage

Sage is the colour of the season. Brides are searching for sage green dresses for their bridesmaids, up 90% from last year when analysing Pinterest’s growing wedding trends. When looking at beauty trends more broadly, sage nail design searches have also increased by 600%.
Floral Fun

Wedding florals are moving beyond bouquets and table centrepieces in 2023. Amongst growing wedding trends on Pinterest, brides-to-be are searching for French tip manicures with flowers up +100% from last year. They’re also searching for floral veils more than last year, up 80%.
