OVS, Italy’s leading apparel fashion brand for men, women and children’s clothing launches its women’s SS21 Collection this season, across all stores in the UAE. This season the OVS Women’s Spring 21 collection focuses on clean shapes inspired by the simple elegance of fine tailoring.
The mellow colour palette of the SS21 season reflects the shades of nature as it reawakens, with pastel greens, mauves and light blues that fade into beiges and whites. Abstract floral prints and graphic stripes and dots, arranged in fresh, versatile patterns, take centre stage. The key garments are trousers and skirts with utility details. Shirts and dresses with minimal silhouettes feature playful gathered effects, pleats and contrasting volumes on the sleeves.
Hints of lurex glamourise the yarns used in the knitwear, adding a touch of sparkle to the quiet elegance of classic fits. March explodes on to the scene with an initial, shy burst of warm nuances and blooms, expressed in the embroidery, stitching and applications sported by the garments. The retro handmade vibe of the range, spanning patchwork and crochet techniques, isopenly inspired by the seventies.
The colour kaleidoscope features shades of light yellow, mustard, marsala, pale pink and chambray blue. Tiny Bohemian flower prints project the style towards a warmer dimension. Floral dresses, frilly skirts and wide-leg trousers are the key items to bet on. Images of trips to exotic lands, full of rustic elements and references to nature permeate the materials and
colours of the creations for April. These range from natural white to earthy tones and include hints of chilli red and spicy yellows. Linen, jersey and crochet are the go-to textures. Animal print and tropical patterns liven up the garments. Contemporary silhouettes and fresh details convey the resort-like vibe of this collection, which features floaty dresses with flounces and lightweight shirts, to mix and match with palazzo pants or Bermudas, and elegant fluid jumpsuits set off to perfection by straw hats and sandals.
In May, a range of bright, block colours finally takes to the stage: shocking pink and bubblegum pink, but also yellow and turquoise, for a fresh, fun wardrobe suitable for all summer occasions, from the city to the beach. The patterns on the dresses continue to favour flowers, this time with pictorial and graphic restyling designed to convey joy and positive energy.
Spring also sees the launch of the Baby Angel springtime collection,inspired by the idea of a timeless woman. The vintage images brought to mind are full of references to the fifties, from silhouettes of dresses with heart-shaped necklines to trumpet Capri pants and mini-cardigans with puff sleeves. Micro-floral prints mixed with gingham checks play a key role in the visual impact of the garments. To add a more youthful and contemporary dimension to the collection, the retro component is offset by elements of the latest trends: slouchy jeans, boxy sweatshirts and puff-sleeved blouses.
The creations of April merge urban, modern, city style with the desire to take back possession of our outdoor spaces and re-establish contact with nature. The theme is the urban picnic; the fabrics evoke a mood inspired by Provence, featuring broderie Anglaise, floral prints, yarn- dyed cotton cloths and gentle pastel colours. The shapes remain simple, versatile and everyday life-friendly; A-line dresses or styles with elasticated waists, feminine blouses, denim or twill shorts.
In May, summer explodes with the energy of strawberry pink and orange, clearly breaking away from the pastel shades favoured so far. The dresses and summer sets are the key shapes. Bardot necklines, one-shoulder tops, spaghetti straps and plunging backs are the main details featured. Gatherings and laces reign supreme on tops and blouses, to match with maxi and mini-skirts and shorts, in line with the trend of printed sets. The 1980s-inspired denim shorts and the t-shirt with shoulder pads add a street vibe.
