Caroline is a sixteen-year-old musician based in Los Angeles. Despite being a teenager, she has been passionate about writing songs, singing and being on stage from when she was very little. Her hits “I Know Better” and “Already There” reached more than 3 million streams from around the world and caught the attention of the young generation and media. She loves being in touch with her fans and is an active user of different social media platforms. Also, Caroline supports suicidal teenagers and helps them to be stronger.
Hello, Caroline! Thanks for joining us for this interview. Could you tell us more about How did you start your career as a singer?
Absolutely! I’ve always loved singing and it’s one of the only things in life that makes me genuinely happy. School was not a fun time for me so I thought I would try to make it better by chasing my dream of becoming a singer whole-heartedly so I could have some hope. From there I started writing, recording, networking and posting on social media.
Do you usually record new material in a studio or at home?
I usually record at a studio. This year I’ve been lucky to be able to do it in a very safe way where I don’t have to be in the same room as the producer.
What do you usually do when you are feeling sad?
I try to either come up with a solution for why I’m feeling, accept the sadness if I can’t control it, write a song or get my mind off it by singing.
Every well-known celebrity nowadays has haters, how do you feel about people who Do you dislike your music?
I don’t take it very personally because music is SO subjective and everybody has their own personal taste or genres that they like to listen to. Many can also go in with a preconceived notion so if they go into the song knowing ot’s a “pop” song, they’re already going to hate it.
Do you make your amazing music videos and colourful album covers by yourself as well?
Yes, I do and it’s one of my favorite things to do. Hopefully I’ll keep improving but I’ve definitely gotten better than I was a couple months ago!!
Who is your celebrity crush at the moment and why?
Zac Efron because I loved High School Musical, Hairspray, The Greatest Showman and honestly every other movie he’s ever done!
For all teenagers reading our interview, how to get out of the toxic relationship start being more positive?
I think learning to say no to protect yourself is so important to learn at a young age! You don’t owe anyone who is cause you physical or psychological an explanation for stepping back or cutting them out of your life. Unfortunately, toxic people can play mind games and make it almost impossible to leave because they want to trap you but once you say I’ve had enough and leave, you’ll find a new strength you never knew you had! By getting that negative energy out of your life, it will allow you to be the positive person you want to be.
Do you know how many people are now members of Caroline’s Army?
I’m not quite sure how many but luckily we keep growing so it’s very excited and they are seriously the best, most awesome and kindest people I’ve ever met in my life! It’s very special!!
Where does your inspiration come from?
I usually write about my real life and anything that happens.
What made you write and release your single”Smilin'” Was it a message to someone specific?
I wrote “Smilin'” about not being seen for who you are, going through a very difficult time where you don’t know if you’re going to make it, feeling isolated, unaccepted and ignored when you ask for help. I would say it is more about my own mental state during that time than a specific person and even then it would be more so about groups of people.
If you could perform a duet with one person, who would it be?
Someone like Lizzo or Harry Styles would be awesome!
