Nate may not have been swooning – but we sure were!

If the latest episode of Euphoria has taught us anything, it’s that bubble braid ponytails are all the craze at the minute.

During the episode, we see the fabulous Cassie sporting all different kinds of flamboyant looks to attract the gaze of Nate – including the classic bubble braid ponytail.

Over the years, this hairstyle has been worn by the likes of Gigi Hadid and Olivia Rodrigo – but there is just something so unique about Sydney Sweeney’s Keira-Knightley inspired look here.

With this in mind, Nick Drewe, trends specialist at WeThrift, shared how to copy Cassie’s iconic bubble braid look – and the good news is that you don’t have to get up at 4am to do it!

  1. Begin by tying your hair up into a high ponytail.
  2. Tie a second hairband a couple of inches further down from the top of the ponytail.
  3. Gently pull the hair between the two ties outward with your fingers to form into a bubble shape. Be sure to keep on experimenting with the space between the first hair band and the second in order to achieve your desired bubble volume.
  4. Repeat this step for the rest of the ponytail and make sure to leave a couple of inches between each hairband.
  5. To achieve the look of Cassie, stop the tying process once your hair hits the shoulder. This will keep your braid looking both modern and chic.
  6. Finish off the look with your favourite hair spray. Seeking that 90s vibe? Experiment with funky hair bobbles.

When it comes to bubble braids, not all of us are gifted with the skill to whip up a french or dutch braid at the drop of a hat, which makes this trending hairstyle perfect for those who are a little more low maintenance.

Though they may look a little hard to achieve, a few simple hair ties can give any hairstyle a new lease of life. Popping up all over social media including TikTok, the hairstyle is still popular a year after its resurgence with 37.7 million hashtag views on the social media platform.

Nick Drewe at WeThrift, says: “Bubble braids are thankfully very easy to style, despite how complicated they may look. To pull the look off, you first need to make sure that you have all the right supplies including hair elastics and hair spray.

“To achieve that perfect bubble shape between each elastic, loosen the hair by pulling each section until they form a round bubble look”.
