The second season of the Netflix Period Drama Bridgerton dropped on March 25th, and we cannot get enough of the beautiful outfits! Every dress is more extravagant and colorful than the one before, not to forget the diamond and pearl necklaces, tiaras, and of course the rings worn over gloves to tie it all together.
In Modern times, we sadly cannot go to the Modiste to get the perfect dress tailored or attend Balls to find the perfect suitor anymore, but that does not mean that we cannot wear dresses and other clothing items that give off a slight Bridgerton-esque feel. Here is a list of a few items that will make you look like the season’s Diamond and the talk of the town.
The Perfect Sundress
Throughout the Regency-era-inspired hit show, we only ever see women in dresses, which makes long floral sundresses with puffy sleeves perfect to give off that ‘’going for a promenade with a chaperone’’ vibe in modern times. These dresses are also perfect to wear for weddings and birthdays, or even as a fabulous everyday dress.
Bold Colors
If you noticed anything in Bridgerton, it is that bright colors are everywhere. A bright yellow sundress is perfect to give off an air of ‘’reading Lady Whistledown’s latest social pamphlet while sipping tea in the garden’’. Dresses with shoulder straps tied into a bow make dresses look effortlessly flowy and elegant.
Huge sleeves
Puffy mesh sleeves are a fantastic way to play with textures and add more dimension to the outfit as we’ve seen throughout the show. They are also reminiscent of our favorite wannabe independent woman Eloise Bridgerton’s puff sleeve chemisette that she wears underneath almost all her dresses.
Prints and Patterns
Prints, patterns, and even embroidery are incorporated into just about every dress in Bridgerton, which is why Floral and Jacquard’s print corsets are a must-have if you want to look elegant, classy and make a statement at every party or on any occasion with minimal effort, especially if you prefer pants or skirts over dresses.
Gloves to match
Gloves are an integral part of every single outfit in the series, and we’re absolutely here for it! This little detail exudes ‘’London High society’’ and will make you look like the next Viscountess. You could grab a basic white pair, or you could take it a step further and opt for colors that will elevate your look by matching your dress or corset.
