The iHeartRadio Music Awards took place on May 27th. This year, the time had finally come for the stars to strut along the red carpet as the ceremony last year was cancelled. Just when we thought awards season was over, we then get spoiled by the iHeartRadio Music Awards. I am not sure who was more excited for the awards show, us, or the celebs! I love any red-carpet event that can ultimately give me some makeup inspiration. I have rounded up my top 4 beauty looks that I cannot wait to recreate.
The faux freckle trend has been around for a couple of years now, but I love seeing it time and time again. Some of us are not as lucky when it comes to receiving the natural freckle gene from mum and dad. So, we have to fake them!
Doja Cat looked sun-kissed, youthful, and playful as she posed on the red carpet. Both her makeup looks incorporated faux freckles. Faux freckles are one of those trends that do not need to look perfect to look natural. If you are looking to recreate this look, the chances are you have the products in your makeup bag already. You can use an eyebrow pencil, pencil eyeliner or fine-tipped liquid eyeliner. These products will help you to create precise dots that will look just like little freckles. Plus, if you dab your freckle dots with your finger to slightly blend them, it will become more natural-looking on your skin. You will soon be fooling all of your friends.
The most significant step to recreating this look is choosing a shade that is one or two shades darker than your skin tone. You can take some inspiration from Doja Cat and place them across your cheeks and nose. Oh, and add some to the bridge of your nose too.
Remember that you can have fun with the placement of your fake freckles. Do not place them too symmetrically.
No red carpet is complete without a timeless, red lip look. It is chic, iconic and screams elegance. Red lips also never go out of season! H.E.R and Ava Max both confidently rocked a red lip, which perfectly matched the colour of the carpet. It was meant to be.
Red lipstick is a fabulous choice if you are looking to add a bold colour to a simple makeup look or outfit. It brings attention to your lips and can often make your teeth appear whiter! Time to grab your favourite red lipstick. It looks as though this staple makeup item is not going anywhere soon.
A Pop of Pink
Pink is such a fun colour to incorporate into your makeup look. It is flirty, cheerful, and vibrant. I love it! This year we had two very different shades of pink on the carpet. Megan Fox’s lips were a bright Barbie pink, which was a massive contrast to Tal Wikenfeld’s pale, blush-pink lids. Either way, both shades were gorgeous.
Pink adds a brilliant pop of colour to any outfit and makeup look. Plus, it is universally flattering, looking stunning on every skin type, eye, and hair colour. These two contrasting looks remind me of how versatile pink can be.
Whether you are looking to make a statement like Megan with a hot, pink pout or wanting to try out a subtler rosy eye look, like Tal, pink is a fantastic option for both day and night-time events.
Both Demi Lovato and Charli showed off their beautiful dark, bold brows. No soap
in sight! These are personally my favourite kind of brows. The angled arch can help create almost a contour to your face as it adds a bit of structure to those with a rounded face shape. It will make your face appear narrower!
This filled-in eyebrow look is also super easy to recreate with the help of a brow pencil. If you want to re-create this dark brow look, I suggest choosing a brow shade one or two shades darker than your natural brows. Choosing a darker shade will help contrast to your skin tone, creating a bold, striking look to your brows. The key to achieving these brows is to use tiny upward strokes to lift your brows whilst applying the product. Make sure your brow pencil is nice and sharp too!
TOP TIP: Apply your much-loved highlighter to your brow bone. This little trick will make your eyes appear bigger and exaggerate your brows, giving them an instant lift.
