However, in 2017 she decided to pursue her career as a solo singer and released a debut single”Big Girls Cry”. And now Mimoza dropped a powerful pop single “Young Queen” that is about self-love and pride.

Hi, Mimoza! Thank you very much for fitting our interview into your busy schedule. Congratulations on your new beautiful single “Young Queen”. How did you feel about releasing such a personal record?
Thank you so much. Of course. I’m so proud of this record as it’s my most personal record. I put all of me in it and I wanted to write a song that unapologetically celebrates what made me who I am today.

Tell me, what was your childhood like?
I had the best childhood growing up in Sweden. I grew up with Astrid Lindgren. She’s one of the best writers and someone I’ve definitely looked up to for years.

What is your favourite childhood memory?
Singing outside on a swing & playing in the woods with my friends. I’m so happy I had no internet growing up. It was all imagination & something that has helped my creativity, today.

Was it challenging changing homes and countries
? Yes, because I didn’t speak the language when we moved to Germany. But the beauty within that was that I discovered my love for music & I became addicted to it. I’d sing & practise all day in my room.

What is the most exciting thing in your life at the moment?
Releasing honest songs that come from my heart & calling this my job. I moved to LA for music & I don’t take this opportunity for granted. I’m proud of myself for being persistent & believing that anything is possible. I’m proud of how brave I am, how far I’ve come & how far I’ll go.

Do you play any musical instrument?
No, I don’t.

What is your songwriting process?
Oh, it’s always different. A song can take 20 minutes to 2 months to 2 years. All depends on creativity.

What do you usually do in your free time?
I love to travel. I love to go on roadtrips. I love flea markets. I love a great long brunch or dinner with friends. I love to buy clothes & things for my home. Things I didn’t know I needed! LOL

What advice would you give women who do not value their self-worth?
Self worth is a choice. When you make that choice, no one can take that from you. That’s one of the best lessons my mom has taught me. Thanks mom. <3

Who is your idol? And why?
My parents. The strongest, most hardworking people with the biggest hearts. They’re also so funny & make me laugh all the time.

What is your favourite musical album right now?
 I love 21 by Adele. It’s a timeless classic.

What are your future plans? More releases coming soon?
To take over the world with my music. One record at a time. And yes new music is coming. Stay tuned. 🙂
