You have an EP that is set to be released during summer, could you reveal its title?
Yes, I do! The EP is called Mu La La. It’s my debut EP and it’s a new sound for me. So, I am really excited about it.

There are 3 tracks on the EP. The songs are “Bad”, “Gimme That”, and “Eeny Meeny Miny Moe.”

You started modeling at a very young age and then you went into music A few years after that, what made you take on another career path?
My siblings and I modeled with Ford Models when we were very little. I always loved music, fashion, and acting. But singing was really a calling for me. When I was 7 years old, I heard a voice that told me to “sing to the world.” I instantly knew that was what I was meant to do and I started focusing more on music. We had a sibling band for 6 years and then I became a solo artist.

When you first started content creating on various social media platforms, did you ever expect to gain this many followers and Subscribers?
No, it was quite shocking actually! I started out on Instagram, just posting photos. Then one night, I went to bed with 6,000 followers and woke up with almost 40,000 followers. I went viral in India. That growth really jump-started my career. Now, my largest following is on Tik Tok, I just hit 100K!

What inspired you to use a K-pop-inspired sound in your upcoming Single?
I love K-Pop, Hip-Hop, Pop, and Rap. I think you will hear all of those influences in my music. I have such an appreciation for Korean culture and one of my favorite bands is Black Pink. I wanted to create a unique sound, blending many genres of music that I love. Music is such a universal language. I hope I created something that other people will enjoy as much as I do.

Your new single, “Bad”, is set to be released on 7/23, how excited are you to release it to the public as the release date is getting closer and closer?
I’m really excited, to be honest! I’m very proud of this EP because it’s the first time I was in creative control of my music. I developed my own sound and really got involved in production. So it is very special to me. I’m also filming a music video right now and that should release shortly after the song.

How did you come up with the name KG Crown?
I knew that I needed a name to help brand myself and distinguish myself from other artists. KG is my initials and I chose the last name Crown because I love wearing crowns on my head to remind myself that I’m a QUEEN!

What is your favorite thing about having a YouTube channel?
My favorite thing about having a YouTube channel is that I get to share my life and adventures with other people. I post videos about fashion, beauty, music, and my life. I get to show my personality on camera. On Instagram I take a lot of serious pictures, not all of them are smiling. But on YouTube, people get to see my personality. I’m fun, know how to laugh at myself, and have a good time. YouTube is almost like hanging out with me.

Is there any particular song that you are very excited to release from your EP to your audience?
My favorite song on the EP is “Bad” which is releasing on July 23rd! The song was written in response to being bullied by mothers, teachers, and peers at my school. I grew up in a conservative Christian town where I was bullied for singing pop music, wearing crop tops, and pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. I was always a nice girl and kind to everyone, so that experience really shaped me.

Now, I don’t have a tolerance for bullying. No one should be bullied for pursuing their dreams. It was one of the most difficult things I’ve gone through but it taught me to love myself, be confident in who I am, and stand up for others. It drove me to succeed! I use my platform now to speak out against bullying and I just started working with some anti-bullying organizations that I’m excited about. I am blessed to have a platform and be able to use my voice on important issues like this.

What country would you one day love to perform at?
I would love to go on a world tour and visit every country! But if I know for sure that if I do not go to India, I will have some angry fans. Early on in my career, I grew a large fanbase in India and those fans have followed my career since I was 7 years old. They are amazing!

What activities do you love engaging in during your free time?
I am a diehard basketball fan. I LOVE basketball. I love playing it and watching it. I also like to skateboard, swim, hang out with friends, play video games, watch movies, and go to Broadway shows.

After the release of your EP, how soon should we expect an album from You?
I’m in the studio right now writing and recording new music. So stay tuned!
