Let’s be honest, when you open your wardrobe, what is the color you see the most? Is it monotonic blacks and whites, or is your wardrobe really colorful? Honestly, mine is mostly blacks and whites, and this is the year I hope to change that. Wearing colors that aren’t exclusively black and white opens your world to a variety of options fashion-wise. Colors reflect certain emotions, highlight your skin tone and your features, and allow you to experiment.
If you have also decided to upgrade your wardrobe and make it colorful, but are confused as to what colors are trending and suit you, here are a few colors that will be prominent throughout 2022:
Muted silver – When we imagine silver, we always think of bling and glitter. We never think of silver being a soft, silent, and romantic color, right? But if styled correctly, silver can be a romantic color too. While silver and grey are very similar in tones and hues, silver is slightly lighter than grey, and that’s what sets them apart. Wear silver as a tracksuit set or as a bridesmaid’s dress to your best friend’s wedding and dance the night away!

Turquoise – With our increasing obsession with the ocean, turquoise is the most obvious choice of color in 2022. Color resembling the waters of Seychelles, it is the perfect color for the summer. Turquoise also suits every skin tone, depending on the depth of the color you choose. Since turquoise is a mix of blues and yellows, go for a darker shade of turquoise if you have cool-toned skin and a lighter shade of turquoise for warmer-toned skin. Opt to wear turquoise to a lousy beach day in the summer and twin with the beautiful waters!

Sage green – Green is an evergreen color, pun absolutely intended! Every year, we see a new shade of green come into the limelight and steal the show. For 2022, sage green will be the shade of green that shines the brightest. Sage green is a lighter and muted version of a typical olive green, and that’s what makes it regal. Sage green would be best suited for people with warmer skin tones as it would complement their skin and showcase their features slightly more. However, this doesn’t mean that cooler-toned skins cannot rock the color. Wear a sage green colored top or dress and feel like a royal queen!

Terracotta – Brown, and orange are the colors that rule the fall season. Thus, it was clear
that a mix of the two colors would be a fall favorite among many. Terracotta is the best
mixture of the two colors and feels earthy and beautiful. If you are somebody who loves
the bohemian style, definitely consider adding a lot of terracotta into your wardrobe for
the fall. Terracotta adds a rustic and vintage feel to any outfit and flatters all skin tones. A
terracotta jumpsuit or monochromatic look would do justice to the color and the season!

Amethyst purple – Have you ever seen an amethyst crystal in real life? The reds and purples perfectly blend to form the most beautiful version of purple, ‘amethyst.’ Amethyst is undoubtedly the rising star from the purple family because it is a unique shade of purple we haven’t witnessed before. The darkness of the color makes any outfit majestic and grand. Wearing an amethyst-colored blazer to a formal event or a gown to a wedding will effortlessly make you the star of the room.

Very Peri – The list would be incomplete without Pantone’s official ‘Color of the Year. Pantone has listed Very Peri as the color for 2022. Very Peri is a stunning mix of reds and blues. According to Pantone, the color encourages personal inventiveness and creativity. Needless to say, the color will be all over the runways during fashion weeks. Since the color is relatively new, it would be the best time to put your experimenting hat on and try various permutations and combinations of the color. In my opinion, the color would look wonderful with yellow, orange, and white. Try out different looks and enjoy the inventiveness the color brings along with itself.

2022 seems like it would be a colorful year. According to trend analysts, various colors will rule the year, and it would be exciting to see the way the year pans out. 2022 also seems to be a great time to add some color to your wardrobe and ditch those monotone blacks and whites. Find colors that suit your skin, showcase your personality, match the vibe that’s going on and wear them confidently and fearlessly. Experiment and don’t worry about fitting into the crowd. You are unique so choose colors that accentuate that.
