Created by Coco Chanel in 1910 in Paris, Chanel has now become one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. The luxury fashion house gained popularity after introducing the iconic tweed suit, the quilted handbag, and the two-tone shoes. German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld became the creative director for Chanel in 1983. He was known for creating some of the most memorable looks and designs, specifically the vintage black dress with gold chains, originally worn by Christy Turlington at the 1992 Haute Couture Spring/Summer show. Years later,
Lily Rose-Depp wore the same dress when walking down the 2019 Met Gala red carpet. Virginie Viard became Chanel’s new head designer in 2019 after working side by side with Lagerfeld for years. From the latest looks she designed, we can see that she is making Chanel her own. Let’s have a look at some of them.

Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2022 Collection:

This pink tweed dress has an extremely modern feminine silhouette, thanks to the flowy three-quarter sleeves, and the skirt that has a little extra fabric dangling on each side, giving the illusion of a cape. The dress also has four pockets: two on the chest area and two on the hips, with glitter details on the buttons, that also runs down the middle of the dress and across the skirt’s hem. The model also carried the gold metal evening bag shaped like a perfume bottle, from the ‘’PRECIOUS BAGS’’ collection.

This unusual silhouette is perfect to describe this collection, which is a mix between fantasy and reality, which expresses an ethereal lightness. This isn’t any normal black dress with thin straps, the pearl and colorful tweed detailing on the bust, in addition to the mermaid-style flowy skirt perfectly portrays Virginie Viard’s feminine touch.
