“As a comedian (or pretty much anyone working in the arts), you have to put yourself out there constantly and consistently, you have to be willing to fail and embarrass yourself over and over, to always experiment and try new things. I find the longer you do it, the harder it gets — and so the most difficult challenge has been to stay open and vulnerable even when I don’t want to. It’s important to take breaks, of course, to step away and recharge, in order to be able to do that and get back out there.
