West to west Is a family run grab and go restaurant the story behind it is very heartwarming where it was established by 2 siblings Michele & Laddi, where their mum is from Sierra Leone which is in the west of Africa while their dad is from Tobago which is in the Caribbean and that is from where their name was inspired where the menu has food from the west to west – the menu has a very wide variety of dishes that includes traditional meals from both cultures as well as the Jamaican culture due to them living for a while in the united kingdom so they met with many Jamaican people where they developed connections with them so they added their dishes to the menu.

The menu created in this restaurant would make you feel a sense of homemade food where the menu was chosen by their mother Mama J as well as their Aunt Lina, this way anybody that would try the food wouldnโt feel like they are having fast food however it all feels and tastes like food made by their mother this way you would never feel homesick if you are living far away from your family and were raised eating Jamaican food.

One of the Jamaican dishes in this menu is the โJamaican jerk chickenโ which is a very juicy dish rich with a very unique flavor which comes from the jerk spice it is seasoned with, when you dive into this dish you are first introduced by the crispiness of the outer layer of the chicken then with the softness and juiciness of the chicken from the inside, of course, you can’t have chicken without having rice on the side and as usual the Jamaican cuisine cannot be bland so the chicken is served with the Jamaican rice and peas dish which isnโt just white rice with peas – this dish is made up of white rice boiled with red kidney beans, special herbs and finally the magical ingredient coconut cream that gives it a very rich flavor.

You would think that the story of their delicious food ends with the Jamaican dishes but no, it doesnโt end there let me take you through the journey of the Caribbean dish โ Trini Pholourie with tamarind sauceโ this dish is an adventure on its own these are fried dough balls which are slightly crispy on the outside but very light and as fluffy as a marshmallow on the inside, this is considered a street food snack in Trinidad where people eat it to warm up their stomach before the main dishes are served.

Of course, after hearing about those starter and main course dishes you would start wondering if there any desserts in this menu or not, and the answer is, of course, there is and the go-to one is the โsticky toffee pudding with toffee dates syrupโ this is a soft sponge textured cake/pudding with a drizzling sticky sauce on top which is the perfect way to end your meal at this restaurant.

West to west is located in Abu Dhabi, in Najda street but if you cannot go to dine in there then you donโt have to worry because they have you covered with their delivery through Talabat and Deliveroo, donโt miss out on the chance to try their phenomenal dishes and their very reasonable prices.
