Searches for ‘winter nails’ have increased by a whopping 771% on Pinterest, as beauty enthusiasts look for cool nail trends to pair with those winter fashion staples and party outfits.
Using Pinterest trends data, researchers at Wethrift have discovered what nail colors and designs we’ve all been adding to our inspiration boards, ahead of the festive season.
Top 10 Nail Trends For Winter 2022:
- Tortoise – 1900%
Tortoise nails are back in full force. Animal prints seem to be one of the hottest trends of the year, but for autumn and winter, we’re stepping away from the bold prints and opting for a more toned-down design. The technique using caramel, brown and black shades is going to be a huge hit this winter, with searches up by 1900% on Pinterest.
- Pop Art – 1150%
Pop Art is the latest nail trend to take over social media, dominating our Instagram and TikTok feeds in a variety of different styles. The demand for comic book-inspired designs have increased by a whopping 1150% on Pinterest in the lead up to winter, while over on TikTok the #popartnails hashtag has amassed a colossal 35.2 million views.
- Chrome – 691%
Chrome nails have become a go-to design over the past few months, and it looks like more people will be joining the hype in the lead-up to winter with an increase of 691% in searches. The best thing about the nail design is that it can be incorporated into your individual style.
You can go for a bold and daring full chrome look or opt for a futuristic twist on the classic French tip. Lizzo, Zendaya and Dua Lipa are just a few of the A-list celebrities that have been seen sporting the mirror effect nails, in shades of silver, gold and copper.
