Jade Lily has made a name for herself in the fashion and beauty industry with a unique combination of bright personality, modern minimalism, and nostalgic allusions that is both driven and refreshingly grounded. We chatted with the creator to learn more about her daring aesthetic, changing creative process, and methods for maintaining authenticity both online and offline.

Your style is so fearless and expressive—what first sparked your love for beauty and fashion?
Honestly, I have no idea what first sparked it because I can’t remember a time I wasn’t obsessed. I was planning out my hair and outfits as far back as preschool—literally throwing tantrums if something didn’t match! My mom is a hairstylist and owns a salon, so I grew up immersed in that world, hearing women talk about beauty all day. Being an only child, I might’ve just hyper-fixated on it early on.
You’re known for mixing nostalgic vibes with modern trends. What eras or aesthetics influence you the most right now?
Such a good question. I’m inspired by so many things, but right now I’m loving minimal and modern styles that have weird little twists—like a pop of unexpected color, a funky shoe, or a surprising texture. It’s all about finding balance and then breaking it in the right place.
What’s your go-to look when you want to feel your most confident and powerful?
For makeup, I go natural and glowy with skin as the focus—and no mascara. Hair-wise, undone waves or a good blowout. The outfit varies, but something simple paired with a funky shoe is usually the move. Honestly, my confidence doesn’t really rely on one type of outfit; it’s more about the energy I’m in.
How do you balance staying on top of trends while keeping your personal style authentic?
By never dressing just for the photo or video. If I’m putting something on only because it’s trendy or “content-worthy,” it never feels like me—and I usually regret it later. Dressing in things you genuinely love every day, even when no one’s watching, is the best way to develop personal style.
Can you walk us through your creative process when curating a new makeup or fashion post?
Most of the time, it happens by accident. I’ll be experimenting with makeup and suddenly become obsessed with a look, then I have to film it. Same with fashion—I’ll be shopping my closet, trying new combos, and suddenly land on something I can’t keep to myself.
What are 3 must-have products or pieces currently living rent-free in your makeup bag or closet?
My Shiseido eyelash curler, the Haus Labs Glassy Blush Balm, and my Use tinted sunscreen. And as a bonus—my Maison Margiela Tabi shoes. Obsessed.
Your content feels both high-glam and relatable. How do you keep that balance in your online presence?
It happens naturally, because that’s just who I am. I’ve always had expensive taste and love content that’s beautifully shot—but I don’t believe in making my page feel exclusive. I want to be the sister I never had. You can love luxury and still be approachable.
How has your relationship with self-expression evolved since you started creating content?
Completely. I started out trying to look like other people and keep things “perfect” for the algorithm. Now, it’s about showing who I am, not just what I wear. I’m more into experimenting in real time—with beauty, hair, my style, and my audience. I still have a strategy, but it supports me rather than defines me.
What advice would you give to someone who’s afraid to step outside the box with their personal style?
Take the pressure off! You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you get dressed. That’s exhausting. Instead, just experiment with what you already own—throw things at the wall and see what sticks. Oh, and please don’t buy something unless you can imagine wearing it with at least five different outfits. That’s the real key.
