Fashion Misses From the BAFTA Awards 2024 Red Carpet

The BAFTA Awards annually bring a fair share of fashion looks worth dissecting and discussing, in addition to praise-worthy work and talent. This year too, the star-studded event had many endearing moments in fashion as well as talent.

From Emma Stone to Christopher Nolan to Cillian Murphy, most stars that created exceptional and inspirational moves over the past year got appreciated and rewarded for their passionate contributions.

As for the red carpet looks…This year, the stars showed up in multi-faceted styles, covering multiple colors, textures and silhouettes. While some of them totally stunned in their designer ensembles, some of them fell into the “red carpet fails” category in social-media-speak.

We’ve already seen the fashion hitmakers from the BAFTAs 2024.

Here are the top 5 fashion misses.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell appeared in what looked like a cascading gown but wasn’t. The all-black color tone worked stunningly well for the star, but the details of the outfit were a bit all over the place. With sheer ruffles, a cascading train, a bow, and a hood, there was just too much going on.

Daisy Edgar-Jones

Daisy Edgar-Jones chose a romper-gown combo silhouette that sadly failed to create any kind of magic. The shorts portion – textured and shimmery was elegant, but it was put off by the rest of the dress, which fell flat and uninteresting altogether.

Bradley Cooper

Bradley Copper, who always stuns on the red carpet, was unfortunately not a hitmaker this BAFTA season. He chose a long-line double-breasted blazer paired with flared pants and a tie; a silhouette with proportions that in no way complement each other. The only pleasant thing about the outfit were perhaps the embellished buttons.

Bryce Dallas-Howard

Bryce Dallas-Howard appeared in a number that was a bit too sparkly. The dress was covered in high-shine silver sequins, which in itself was too unflattering. To top it off, it had a black rosette in the center, with seemingly elegant cutouts, the effect of which was simply overshadowed by the shimmer details. The chunky pumps that she chose to pair the outfit with, did not do any good either.

Fantasia Barrino

Fantasia Barrino wore a red gown – and the only thing that was good about it was the color. The outfit had too many overlays and drapes going every which way, that it was hard to put a pin on what the silhouette was. The sheer black opera gloves and black pumps were a whole different vibe, further sending the look into a grand mismatch.

Celebrities spend days and months planning their prestigious award night outfits, and most of the time they turn out exceptionally well. Rarely though, like these, ensembles don’t quite cut it.
More honors and gala nights up ahead; let’s wait to see what they have in store.
