Every New York Fashion Week, certain designer items go viral and they become the crowd’s favorite. Last year, everyone was obsessed with Prada, especially the reedition nylon bag, Prada logo tank tops, and more. This year, everyone is going crazy over the cartoon-looking big red boots by MSCHF and they were officially named Big Red Boot by the brand itself.
If you are familiar with the brand MSCHF then you would know that they love using their product release to make a statement. In the past, they’ve released boots that look like medical casts, Birkenstock sandals made from Hermès Birkin’s, and they collaborated with Lil Nas X with the Satan sneakers that featured a drop of red blood in the shoes.
The brand loves to make headlines, push boundaries and make a statement. Their latest release looks like something Super Mario would wear. They are made from TPU rubber and an EVA mid-outsole.
The Big Red Boots were spotted in celebrities at New York Fashion Week. Dorian Electra styled the boots with a black and green coat, white shirt, and a mini skirt she paired the look with a red beret to match the boots.
Sarah Snyder was spotted a couple of times wearing the Big Red Boots, her first look was a white sweater, red mini skirt, and white tights. For her second look, she styled the Big Red Boots with an all-black outfit. For her third look, she styled it similar to the first look, a white top, denim mini skirt, and white tights. For her final look, she styled the boots with a blue zipper top and a denim mini-skirt. Looks like Sarah Snyder has been loving the Big Red Boots and we are all here for it.
The Big Red Boots were spotted outside the fashion field too. Basketball player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander wore them to the arena before a game, he styled the boots with baggy jeans, a white top, and a green jacket.
The DJ Diplo was also spotted wearing them to watch a Knicks game, he styled it with an all-black outfit and a graphic t-shirt.
The boots are very impractical and unusual. However, it’s no surprise to see how quickly the fashion world hopped on them, they are unique, eye-catching, and out of the world. And those who wore the boots despite the criticism get a bonus for taking this fashion risk.
